In this role, you will manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and procure materials for our marine electronics products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement with production needs, ensure quality and cost targets are met, and monitor supplier performance. Additionally, you will conduct market research, manage inventory, and implement process improvements.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sourcing: Research, identify and evaluate current, potential suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the best value for products and services and align them with our company goals and objectives.
Procurement: Secures and analyzes quotations, negotiates prices and terms and recommends suppliers with respect to cost, quality and delivery. Placement of requisitions and purchase orders based on MRP demands while managing inventory levels in line with targets.
Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance with the terms of contract, purchase order and resolve vendor or contract grievances / claims. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms and conditions. Monitor and assess supplier performance. Placement of requisitions and purchase orders
Cost Analysis and Reporting: Conduct market research and analysis to benchmark pricing and assess supplier performance. Prepare reports and presentations on procurement metrics for senior management.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Finance, Operations, SIOP, and Engineering) to ensure alignment of procurement needs and objectives. Specifically, be fully engaged in the SIOP process to ensure best-in-class inventory management.
Risk Management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions.
Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency in sourcing and procurement operations.
Compliance and Standards: Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
Travels to customer and supplier locations, as required.
QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS / ABILITIES:
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably in a mid-level role.
Strong negotiation skills and a track record of successful supplier management.
Must be able to read and interpret electronic schematics and mechanical parts
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data to make informed decisions.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience working with International and Domestic Suppliers
Experience managing 3rd party manufacturer.
Experience working in a manufacturing environment buying electronic components, ceramics, cables, and resin.
Experience with sourcing electronic components and working with both domestic and international suppliers is required.
